Last day of spring break
We have been home for two weeks now. We did home school for the first week. This past week was spring break. Before quarantine started, our plans were to go stay at the family beach house for the first time with the grandparents and cousins.
Instead we did "staycation"
It was a week of yucky weather. We ran outside when we could. There were some sunny breaks to the rain. We went to Washington Park almost every day . The kids played basketball while I walked Teddy around the park.
We watched TV, baked, scrapbooked, and played board games.
Today is Sunday. I go back to "work " tomorrow.
The kids will be on their own while Kyle and I are downstairs working in our offices. We will see how that goes....
I am flooded with work emails today. Back to reality.
Our routine the past two weeks is to sleep in, then I read in bed for an hour after waking up. Then we have a homemade breakfast (waffles, pancakes, French toast, crepes, or eggs and sausage). Then I go have my coffee on the deck and read. I actually have time to finish my coffee these days! Then I go for a walk with the dog down to the park and back. Then I do activities with the kids. Lunch. The afternoons are sometimes lazy- board game, tv or video games or reading. Then we make dinner. After dinner the kids sometimes watch TV with Kyle and then bed.
Life is slow, simple. We eat all our meals at home. The kids have been helping cook. Abby made a yummy NYT pasta sauce. Andrew made chicken fajitas, Kyle made a delicious fish dish with potatoes. The kids have been baking up a storm- churros, cookies, cinnamon rolls. The kids do all the dishes after meals.
So some good has come out of this.
