Day 3 Work from Home
Day 18 at Home
Today was a good day. I am getting in a routine with work from home and with quarantine life
My friend Robin made a "stay sane" list for herself. Some keys for me to stay sane are to talk to friends/ coworkers daily, get enough sleep and to go for a walk outside every day. Routines are also saving me. We have made new routines, quarantine routines and those routines are giving me comfort , predictability. Music, sunshine and exercise simultaneously are also the secret recipe to making me smile:)
I also noticed that if I take a walk during my lunch break, that helps. The first day, I didn't and I got a headache from being on the screen all day.
I worked today downstairs. I did a workout video with kids in the afternoon and then took a walk with them outside.
The sun came out after dinner. It's been doing that lately. I have been sitting on deck in evening to enjoy it or Abby and I go for a walk and soak it up.
Today I felt happy. It felt weird to be "happy" during this quarantine time. But I really did feel happy and fufilled. There are moments when I forget what is going on .... and then I remember.
One of the hardest things about this time is you can't plan the future. You can't sign up for a summer camp, buy plane tickets, plan a vacation.
But the good part of that is that you are forced to live in the moment which is something many have trouble doing because we are all so distracted by busyness/ our phones/ comparison fomo from social media
You just have to take it one day at a time.
I feel immense gratitude for all the things I did do before quarantine. I'm so glad I went on all the trips the past year, saw all the relatives, went on all the night outs with friends. Since now I have no idea when I will be able to do all that again.
It really makes me thing of the saying carpe diem, seize the moment. Life is so precious, Even more so now. Hopefully we won't take it all for granted after this.
